PRECISION BLASTING SERVICES was founded in 1973 by Calvin J. Konya, Ph.D. to   provide the blasting Industry with unbiased  consulting services to reduce blasting costs  and increase efficiency.  The company has become the leader in its field in the USA and because of its  advanced technology has become known as the consultants' consultant. It is the consulting firm used by the professionals when they need help.

The consulting services provide  unique measurement equipment and  analysis techniques. The training seminars are the "standard" used by industry and   government in the USA and Canada. The blast design software written for IBM-PC and compatible computers is recognized and used worldwide. PBS has its own laboratory for explosives and initiator testing.

COMPANY PRESIDENT:

The founder and president, Calvin J. Konya received his Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He was a professor at Ohio State University doing blasting research and teaching in explosives and blasting, and has three decades of worldwide field experience.

Dr. Konya was the founder and first president of the Society of Explosive Engineers.
