Return to top of page Calculations for High Explosive Formulations (CHEF) - Version 5.0
Many small companies mix ingredients to provide the user with emulsions, water gel, and heavy ANFO types of explosives. This software provides thermodynamic calculations, to
easily determine optimum mixtures of ingredients, and calculates the oxygen balance for explosive mixtures, detonation velocity, temperatures and pressures for Detonation State
and Explosion State. It also has the ability to calculate the temperature and pressure, which result from decoupled charges. This is the Expansion State and it provides useful
information when charge volumes are smaller than borehole volumes or charge diameters are smaller than borehole diameters.

Return to top of page Delay Selector - Version 5.0
The Delay Selector software is a unique program that enables the operator to select the proper millisecond delay time to accomplish specific effects in blasting. Delay times are
dependent on many factors, some of which are rock type, rock structure, burden, spacing and the overall effects one wants to achieve. There is no simple general solution if one
wants to optimize production. The delay times are calculated from hole to hole along a row and between rows. By selection of the proper delay time, one can enhance wall control,
reduce flyrock, increase fragmentation and decrease vibration. Proper timing can also control many other parameters. The Delay Selector program allows the user to prioritize
the most important blast effects and select delay times based on the blast performance he needs. The Delay Selector program can be used in conjunction with Blast Designer and
Pattern Designer to fully evaluate or design efficient blasts.

Pattern Designer - Non-Electric, Electric & Universal Initiation Systems
Pattern Designer calculates firing times and checks blasting patterns for SURFACE AND
UNDERGROUND ROUNDS and for square or staggered patterns. Versions are available for electric initiation and non-electric initiation. The universal version handles both electric
and non-electric. No other software has our quick-to-load pattern libraries or build-your-own pattern capabilities. The programs can work with up to 40 holes per row,
10 rows and 10 decks per hole. Patterns can be irregularly shaped, with lost holes anywhere in patterns. The software allows the user to quickly find timing overlaps of any number of
holes and determine the PROBABILITY of such overlaps. The program also shows animated firing of the patterns and decks. A pattern design report can be produced. One can design
an infinite number of patterns quickly and easily. These patterns can be saved for future convenience. Many pattern libraries are available for fast and easy pattern design and analysis.

Pattern Designer Training Simulator - Version 5.0
Pattern Designer Training Simulator is a blast design training program. It is a design
simulator that quickly calculates firing times. It identifies and graphically explains overlaps and out-of-sequence shooting that promotes excessive vibration, air blast, ground vibration
and fragmentation problems causing added cost to any operation. The student will learn to assess the effects of cap scatter and how to produce good patterns, even with cap scatter
considerations. Even the most experienced blasters or engineers will benefit and gain new insight for efficient pattern design. The Pattern Designer Training Simulator contains more
fixed standard blasting patterns for common Electric and Non-Electric Initiation Systems than the standard Pattern Designer making it easier and quicker for training purposes. It
also offers the option to design any electric or non-electric pattern. This program also prints a complete report but it is more designed for student use.

Structural Blast Designer - Version 3.0
Structural Blast Designer is a unique program developed in Europe by individuals with
decades of experience in building and structural demolition. The program designs blasting patterns and powder loads for 45 different structural elements. The elements can be brick,
concrete and reinforced concrete. The software provides designs for demolition of columns, piers, slabs, arches, chimneys and various other structural members. The program designs
powder loads, number of decks, burden, spacing and hole layout for each structural element.

Return to top of page Vibration Assistant - Version 5.0
This program does everything described below for Vibration Consultant; and offers other unique features. It helps the user determine if the vibration is at normal expected levels or if
levels are much higher than anticipated. The program automatically puts an asterisk next to the data to show the user it is time to re-evaluate the blasting procedure. The user then
has the choice to either use this data in further analysis, or to disregard the data from the analysis. The data will remain within the data file, but will not be used for calculation since
it is an abnormality and not something that is normally occurring. If both the blast and monitoring coordinates are considered, the program automatically calculates the distance
from the blast as well as the azimuth from the blast to the seismograph. This helps to maintain accurate distances between monitoring points, and to exactly locate monitoring
points for future reference. The program allows the use of data from all three components; vertical, radial, transverse as well as peak vector sum. One can run an analysis using the
data from any of these three components, the vector sum, or the program can automatically select the maximum vibration level from any of the three components.
Acrobat Reader version 4.0 or better reccomended
Return to top of page Vibration Consultant - Version 5.0
This program performs a linear regression of blast vibration data and will predict peak particle velocity at any distance from the blast. The software will produce a table showing
the maximum charge-per-delay for various distances to achieve a specified maximum vibration level. One has the choice of printing graphs of peak particle velocity versus scaled
distance, peak particle velocity versus frequency and charge weight per delay versus distance. The program also performs a linear regression analysis of air overpressure and
plots air overpressure versus scaled distance. The program will predict overpressure values at any distance from the blast.
